What are the small balls on the tulip plant that has already bloomed?

They appear after the bloom is gone. What are the small balls on the tulip plant that has already bloomed?
It has gone to seed they are called seed pods.

After tulip flowers have faded, ';dead-head'; them by clipping off the faded blooms so that they won't go to seed. What are the small balls on the tulip plant that has already bloomed?
They are the seed pods, If the seed pod is allowed to stay on the stalk, it will eventually turn brown and begin to crack open. The small flat seeds will be exposed.

It will take several years of full sunshine and fertile ground to produce a flowering bulb from tulip seed.If you do not want seeds remove them as they will take a lot of energry to mature and may deplete the main plant.
