Why wasnt Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom, or Johnny Depp at the Academy Awards!?

After all, pirates was up for loads of nominations! but maybe they were busy, but it was disapointing not to se them there, pirates was the only reason was why i was watching it.. if they were there could someone please send me links of pictures of them there if you have them/ please? this would be really helpful! nobody saw them there and major sites dont have any pictures of any of them.. just of other stars i dont care about.. so if someone could please help reply back! Thanks!

Uhhh, I don't know how many nominations ';Pirates'; was up for (I thought it was only two - both technical awards). Actors don't appear for technical awards. Plus the good seats on the floor are saved for nominees and their guests and past winners.





If any of the cast of ';Pirates'; was there, they may have been sitting in a box where you couldn't see them...Why wasnt Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom, or Johnny Depp at the Academy Awards!?
I think they are still filming the third one. Oh, maybe not cuz it does come out in May.

well none of them were nominated for best actor or actress, so there was no reason for them to even be there. the movie however was nominated for 3 oscars and won one. but they weren't there.
They got lost backstage (ala ';Spinal Tap';).

I agree Pirates should have won more than one oscar.


They were nominated for four oscars and only came out winning the oscar for Visual Effects.


Then again the Academy Awards are voted by the people in the movie industry and not by the public like the People's Choice Awards. If it was up to the public, I think Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest might've won a lot more oscars.
I agree with you ... Pirates deserved an OSCAR...but you know only the boring movies get OSCARS
i am a major pirate fan but i think that they knew how bad ded mans chest was and just didnt want to be seen in public after such a cheesey pic. the first one was great tho.
They were too busy having a three way at Depps house in France...
